Terms of Trade

Dalzells of Markethill has compiled our Terms and Conditions section in such a way so as to make our Trading Polices as clear and easy to understand as possible. Please take the time to go through the details and refer to any areas which are of particular relevance. Pricing and Payment

If you’re buying online we can accept Visa (Debit and Credit cards), MasterCard, American Express, Maestro and PayPal. If you pay in-store we accept cash, Visa Debit and Credit cards, Mastercard, American Express, Capital Bonds, Love2shop Vouchers and BACS payments. We will also accept cheques but the funds will have to clear before the goods leave our warehouse.

Unfortunately due to fluctuating exchange rates we don’t accept payments from foreign banks. The exception to this is Euros. Due to our close proximity to the Republic of Ireland we will accept Euros and offer an excellent exchange rate, please discuss this with us when ordering over the phone or in-store. All Goods and Appliances must be paid for before they leave our warehouse - the exception being if you would prefer to pay our driver cash on delivery (see note below). Please note that when buying online or over the phone the billing address and the delivery address must be the same to safeguard both the cardholder and Dalzells against fraudulent transactions.

Cash on Delivery – You can decide to pay our driver with cash on delivery of your item. This can be in Pounds Sterling or in Euros (we offer an excellent exchange rate). If you want to pay in Euros please discuss this with us in advance when ordering over the phone or in store. 

We reserve the right to change or withdraw prices and products without notice if we deem it necessary. All prices include VAT unless stated otherwise and there is no charge for delivery across Northern Ireland or Counties Monaghan, Louth or Dublin. Deliveries to other areas including the UK mainland will be charged according to the type of Appliance, This will range from £11.99 for small appliances to £79.99 for some large Appliances including Range Cookers and American Style Fridge Freezers. Our delivery charges are subject to change depending on fluctuating carrier costs.     

Dalzells hold in excess of 8,000 Home and Domestic Appliances in stock at any one time for quick delivery. Our delivery timescale for stock items to most N.I., Republic of Ireland and UK mainland postcodes is 2-4 working days. On the agreed day of delivery our driver will call to give an indication of the estimated delivery time. Occasionally we may have to order an Appliance direct from the manufacturer which can extend the delivery but if this happens Dalzells will contact you by phone or e-mail to keep you informed.

Online Discount Codes

Online Discount Codes are not valid against any goods purchased in-store.
 

Deliveries and Collections

We use our own delivery vehicles across our Free Zone of Northern Ireland and Counties Monaghan, Louth and Dublin. Outside this delivery zone we use reputable and reliable carrier companies such as Yodel. When your Appliance is delivered if you specify to the driver that you would like your item placed within a specific room we cannot be held responsible for any damage incurred. It is the customer's responsibility to make sure that all floor coverings are protected while the products are being delivered. Also please check the dimensions of the Appliance prior to purchasing to ensure that it will fit through doorways and into the space where it is to be placed. Deliveries are booked on the condition that there will be reasonable access for the safe and prompt delivery of the product. Any special requirements should be notified to us when arranging delivery. For example please let us know, when arranging the delivery of any roadworks, low bridges, gravel driveways, upper floor deliveries or any other factors which may hinder or limit access. This will allow us to make adjustments where necessary so that we can get you appliance to you on time.

When we deliver your Appliance, especially larger items such as American Fridge Freezers or Range Cookers we will assess the area to ensure that no risks are taken which may result in damage to the product, your property or may cause personal injury. Appropriate and reasonable steps will be taken to avoid these issues but we cannot be held responsible for situations beyond our control.

Unless discussed in advance our delivery service does not include installation or connection of your Appliance. Once your goods have been checked over with regard to the number of items and their condition and you are satisfied that everything is in order you will be required to sign a delivery note to verify this.

Finally please be aware that if you are not present at the delivery address on the specified date and time which results in a failed delivery you will be required to pay an additional delivery charge.

UK mainland Delivery is Free on certain items, otherwise starts at £5.99 ranging up to £79.99 for large items such as Range Cookers and American Fridge Freezers (though this is the maximum you will pay, even for multiple items)

Guarantee

All Appliances and other items sold on our website comply with all relevant UK and Republic of Ireland legislation. We cannot warrant or represent that they comply with any legal requirement outside of these areas. For specific warranty details relating to your chosen Appliance please see the Brands pages on our website. The details and warranty information about the relevant manufacturer will be listed there and your manufacturer’s Service Numbers may be found on our Customer Care page.

All Appliances we sell on our website are intended only for normal domestic use unless stated otherwise within the product description.

Availability

All items on display in our retail store or on our website are subject to availability which can only be guaranteed while stocks last. If the goods you have ordered are unavailable we will contact you as soon as possible and offer you a suitable alternative. We will always try to deliver your goods within the specified timescale but goods are subject to availability and any delay is likely to be beyond our control. Please note also that any delivery dates specified are approximate. We cannot take responsibility for any costs or expenses incurred due to any delivery delay so if you plan to have an electrician or gas fitter install your Appliance please wait until discussing this with us at the time of ordering before arranging the installation. You should ensure that all manufacturer guidelines are complied with when siting and using the Appliance or other item purchased.

Cancellations and Returns

As a consumer you have rights if you should decide to cancel your contract with us. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 contains legislation which offers you the following cancellation rights when you buy online or by telephone: You are entitled to cancel your contract if you so wish, provided that this is done no longer than 14 days after the day on which you received goods. Your right to return products does not apply to items which have been personalised. If you wish to exercise your right of cancellation, you are obliged to retain possession of the goods and take care of them. To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to cancel your contract by a clear statement, including details of your name, address, details of the order you wish to cancel, your phone number and email address. This can be done by e-mailing customercare@armaghelectrical.com or by writing to us at Dalzells of Markethill, 62-68 Main Street, Markethill, Co. Armagh BT60 1PL

When we receive your intention to cancel we will send you a cancellation form if required.

A member if Dalzells’ Customer Care team will then arrange to uplift the goods provided the packaging has not been opened or the Appliance installed or used in any way. Please note that a collection fee will be applied and the goods must be collected from the same address to which they were delivered

Alternatively you can arrange the return of the items within 14 days of cancellation and we will reimburse you for costs incurred in doing so plus the amount in relation to goods to which cancellation rights apply (by the method used to pay for the original transaction). Please ensure that you choose a suitably reliable method of returning the goods to us as goods which are damaged, are unpacked, have missing components (including manuals) or go missing in transit will be charged at the full price.

Your refund will include the cost of standard delivery. We are permitted by law to reduce any refund owing should you fail to take reasonable care of the appliance(s) whilst in your possession.

The refund will be made no later than 14 days after the day it is received by us. If an order is cancelled after the goods have left our premises, you will be charged the actual cost of collecting the item which will be deducted from any refund owed to you.

Disclaimer

When you place an order with us we will send an acknowledgement by e-mail and confirm availability as soon as possible. Acceptance of your order and the completion of the contract is deemed to place when the goods are dispatched unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or it has been cancelled.

We always do our best to ensure the accuracy of the details on our website. We cannot be held responsible for errors including but not limited to colour accuracy of a product listed, image discrepancies and product dimensions. The product you purchase may therefore vary slightly from the image supplied by the manufacturer and it may not include the accessories shown. We have the right to refuse or cancel orders for items which have been listed at the incorrect price whether or not the order has been confirmed. In the unlikely event of this arising we will immediately issue a credit to chosen method of original payment to the value of the original purchase. Although we make every effort to ensure that product specifications are correct on our website manufacturer developments may mean that we have to change them without notice. Product descriptions on our website should be regarded as a brief guide only. We would therefore suggest that you check all product specifications with the manufacturer before purchase. Manufacturers’ details can be found within the Brands Section of our website.

Damages

We will not accept claims for damaged goods after they have been checked over and signed for on delivery. If there is visible damage before you sign the acceptance sheet it should be reported to our customer service department within a reasonable period of time.

Faulty Goods

If your Appliance is deemed to be faulty your warranty will not apply if it is due, in our opinion or the opinion of the manufacturer’s engineer, to be caused by excessive wear and tear, negligence, accidental or deliberate damage or any other conditions other than the manufacturer’s intended use of the Appliance. Claims regarding faulty goods will be subject to the Terms and Conditions of the manufacturer’s warranty but this does not affect your statutory rights. If your product appears not to be working as it should please check the manufacturer’s manual or instruction book and follow the fault-finding guide. If a product has been installed the manufacturer will send an engineer to inspect the Appliance to determine the cause of the fault. If the product is found to be installed incorrectly the manufacturer reserves the right to charge for the service call.

When installing a gas appliance a qualified Gas Safe engineer is required. You will find a qualified Gas Safe Engineer by logging on to http://www.gassaferegister.co.uk .

All appliances will need to be installed by a qualified tradesperson, who will have the proper certification.

Security

At Dalzells we appreciate that customers may be concerned about entering their card details online. If you decide to buy from our website rather than in-store you can be safe in the knowledge that our Paypoint 3D Encryption technology will make sure your online transaction is safe. To further add to our online security we hold the Norton Symantec SSL Certificate Authority and are signed up to Safe Buy Consumer Care (see www.safebuy.org.uk).
